It's Waikiki's affordable major show produced specifically for English-speaking visitors hilariously capturing their experiences while travelling to the islands! No "pidgin" talk here, but definitely some local humor that visitors can easily relate to. It's comedy that takes you beyond the traditional Hawaiian experience and shows the hilarious side of Polynesia.
Join hysterical island entertainers for an unforgettable evening of laughter, Polynesian style!
Produced by and starring Bo Namolokama Irvine, the "Hawaiian King of Comedy" and winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing 2008 Hawaii Showcase. Also produced by Chief Sielu Avea from Samoa, known internationally as the "Coconut Man."
Bo Namolokama Irvine (above left) - Known as the Hawaiian King of Comedy, Bo, a Native Hawaiian, has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, NBC Late Night, and Showtime Comedy Club Network. He is an oft-requested performer (and very funny lecturer) at military bases worldwide from Okinawa to Bahrain, and has opened for Howie Mandel, George Carlin, George Lopez, Brad Garrett, Kenny Loggins, Julio Iglesias, and The Righteous Brothers. One year, the Hula Bowl opened for him (Bo headlined the post-game concert at Aloha Stadium). Bo leaves visitors and locals alike rolling on the floor laughing. If you want a riotous taste of true “Hawaiian Comedy,” a visitor’s perspective of the islands plus what it’s like for islanders traveling to the mainland, then you do not want to leave Oahu before experiencing Bo Namolokama Irvine.
Ken “Kento-san” Komoto (above right) - Not often can a comedians in the U.S. get away with doing their act in, say, Japanese! Kento-san has performed his unique and hilarious act across the U.S. and has appeared on A&E’s Comedy On The Road with Jon Byner. He has been entertaining mainland and island audiences for over 20 years, and he does great balloon animals.
Michael “Mr. Diamond Head” Staats (above center) - As the show’s token haole, Michael Staats brings his twisted hair and even more twisted humor to the Comedy Polynesia stage with hysterical parodies of Hawaiian songs made famous by traditional Polynesian shows and Don Ho. Michael would be the perfect host of the Luau from Hell.
This show has an unofficial show rating of PG13.
